Glossed Glossing - Perfectly Pretty

This super lovely bride was married to her lucky gent this past July. A tidy side-chignon combined with soft, sun-kissed makeup was the perfect look for this summer wedding. She looked SO pretty.

Yes Shellac Yes

Your top Shellac safety concerns are addressed and answered. Read on and learn that you are able to be safely trendy.

Are Shellac ingredients safe?
Yes. Shellac was in development and testing for over five years prior to it's release. The ingredients in it are safe and because of the molecular structure, they do not soak through your nail and into your nail bed. The molecules sit on top of the nail plate, never penetrating the surface and entering into the bloodstream.
Is Shellac safe for pregnant women?
Yes. However, every pregnant woman should independently consult with their doctor prior to using any new product or service and it's recommended that pregnant women should do the same prior to receiving Shellac nails. However, CND has reported that Shellac products have not shown problems with pregnant women.
Are UV Lamps Safe?
Yes. This is definitely a legitimate concern and I'm often asked this question. The amount of UV light that you are exposed to while getting your Shellac nails done is about equal to  twenty seconds of actual sunlight, probably the same amount as walking to your car every day. The light you are exposed to is very minimal and the UVB rays are filtered out in the CND lights, an added bonus. If you’re still concerned about the light you can either put sunblock on your hands or put a towel over them so that the rays are not penetrating the skin.
So now you know! It is possible to be totally fashionable in a super safe way. Yay!

Get Your Navy On

Fall 2012 absolutely LOVES navy nails. Any shade of blue will do however, as long as it's dark and deep. CND Colour Midnight Sapphire, shown above, is a perfect colour to model after. Short, square nails always pull off dark hues best and this holds true for the navy trend.

The New French

The French manicure has taken a dramatic turn and I can't get enough. The French Twist made it's debut on the F/W 12-13 runways, and people took notice. What was once deemed pretty and natural, is now seen as boring and unoriginal. It's time to embrace this edgy look and add some twist to your french.

How to get this look? Keep the base layer muted in a cream or nude, and paint the tips in a dark polish like a midnight blue, a deep burgundy, or a striking black.
